Fully Liberated Youth

Colorado | Denver County and surrounding counties (including Araphoe County, Adams County, Douglas County, Jefferson County, and Boulder County)

Organization Description: Fully Liberated Youth (FLY) provides holistic support to young people who may be at risk or involved in the juvenile legal system. The organization focuses on providing mentorship, mental health support, and academic services to foster long-term stability and success for young people. Through referrals from the legal system, schools, and the broader community, FLY offers young people individualized services rooted in relationships with trusted adults to promote healing and positive youth development. FLY’s direct service work with youth informs their policy and coalition work, which is done in partnership with the National Center for Youth Law, to integrate and incorporate the expertise of directly impacted youth to create lasting policy change.

Eligibility: Young people up to the age of 25, especially those that may be involved in the legal system or may be at risk for involvement.

Program Description: FLY offers their holistic and wraparound services to young people through four main avenues including:

  • School-Based Prevention Services: This program provides youth with school-based support, including mentorship, therapy, conflict resolution, and restorative practices. Referrals for this program can be made for any youth who need support, including youth facing juvenile court involvement in designated school districts that have an active partnership with FLY.
  • Community-Based Intervention Services: This program offers youth facing juvenile court proceedings with individualized case management, mentorship, and individual and family therapy.  Referrals for this program come through FLY’s partnership with the Judicial Districts of Denver, Arapahoe, Adams, and Jefferson Counties where FLY offers diversion and early intervention services for youth in juvenile court.
  • Division of Youth Services Program: This program is primarily for youth who are currently detained and preparing to transition back to the community. FLY offers mentorship/advocacy, transitional supports, and therapy for young people at this stage.
  • Community and Policy Advocacy: In partnership with the National Center for Youth Law, FLY engages youth and families directly impacted by the legal system in statewide policy initiatives and advocacy to advance youth-centered policies.
